Director, Lay Member at Large

Marie Oakberg is a member of First Unitarian Church in Wilmington DE, and has been a member of SCM Board since 2005.  She will graduate with a Master of Arts in Religion from Lancaster Seminary in May 2007.  She was granted candidate status by the Mid-Atlantic RSCC in 2004.

In her congregation, Marie has co-led the Welcoming Congregation initiative, designed and facilitated board / staff retreats and congregation strategic planning, served on the Board, served on the community ministry study committee, designed and led Adult RE programs, and currently serves on the social justice and denominational growth committees. In the JPD, she is a founding member of the Journey Towards Wholeness committee.  

Marie works as the Diversity Manager for a financial services institution. She approaches her work as a lay community ministry, with a long-term goal of continuing this work as an ordained minister.
